15th February 2007 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: S Wind Stength: 25-35 knots Surf / Sea State: 3 foot surf Air Temperature: 12ºC Sea Temperature: 9ºC Weather: Cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: A lot windier than I thought it was so I was pretty much overpowered the whole time with my 5m. The waves were pretty chunky too. I had some nice runs though, but with the wind being dead cross-shore there was very little time to get settled between waves so on the way out it was a jump after jump after jump, with each one getting a little bigger the further out I went. Some of the sets were pretty big too. I was struggling a little what with being overpowered and having to contend with big waves and lots of unintentional jumps but still had a good time. There was no one else about. I was expecting to see lots of kites up at Dyfi, but there was no one out over there either. I didn't stay out long as it was pretty hard work and I couldn't be bothered to change down to a smaller sail, but it was a decent and challenging session. |
